Washi Dresses

This isn't Washi dress but don't we look cute all steampunked up?

This is the 2nd Washi dress I made.  It's quilting cotton that's very soft and there are 6 lines of shirring on the back.  I have also shirred the cuffs.  I made a full bust adjustment and dropped the waistline by 2" from the original pattern.

This Washi is made from cotton rayon.  I used the large bow option from the expansion pack, although it's hard to see because the print blends in.  This is using the dropped waist from the original pattern.

This Washi is made from a cotton lawn with the curved collar from the expansion pack.  The sleeves are from the expansion pack and the cuffs are shirred.  I followed the waistline from the expansion pack.

This was my first Washi.  It is quilting cotton.  I made a full bust adjustment and dropped the waistline by 2"

This Washi is made with flannel and I used fabric and sheer ribbon for the rosettes.  This has the full bust adjustment and dropped waistline.

This Washi started as a different dress that went wrong but was saved by becoming a Washi.  There is a band in the back but no shirring or elastic.  It is cotton lawn.
Check out the www.made-by-rae.com website for her great patterns.
The Washi Dress is really easy to make, very versatile and very comfortable.
They even have pockets.  They really do flatter any figure.
I have used the necklines for other dresses that weren't working and it saved them.
I'm trying to make the majority of my own clothing and
the Washi Dress is becoming a staple of my wardrobe.
